TRACK RECORD OF COMMUNITY SERVICE ■ Founder SARATOGA's GOT TALENT ANNUAL COMPETITION; Chair, Saratoga Cares Foundation 501c3 o Launched/ championed community causes and purposeful Saratoga endeavors. o Founded Saratoga’s Got Talent Annual Competition as an annual fundraiser for Saratoga Cares Foundation; funds raised address local needs within the community, such as Saratoga Senior Center, Saratoga Education Foundations etc. Competition is held annually at Saratoga Community Center. ■ Former Planning Commissioner, Saratoga CA ■ Leadership with neighborhood issues o De Havilland Circle Neighborhood: Led the formation of a Neighborhood Safety Watch program (11 block captions, 11 zones) and Neighborhood Preparedness Committee. o Coordinated implementation of various neighborhood projects with Saratoga Public Works: "YOUR SPEED IS" sign on Cox, street repaving, cross walk on Cox and more. o Launched and chaired the annual "Meet your neighbors” neighborhood block party. o Launched social media and collaboration initiatives for the neighborhood o Launched and managed the neighborhood website, that included a neighborhood safety tip guide o President: Roma Ridge Home Owners Association, Novi, MI
■ Proponent of youth empowerment -Founded Saratoga’s Got Talent monthly open mic to empower kids and build confidence - Founded the Saratoga Lego Robotics Club to encourage young kids to explore the world of programming and robotics. - Volunteers time for the Boy Scouts. As the father of an Eagle Scout, works with Boy Scouts towards fulfillment of First Class Requirement and providing volunteer opportunities for Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts. Conducted a successful Saratoga Creek cleanup day inviting all the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts from Saratoga. - Provided many volunteer opportunities, internship opportunities for the youth of the community as part of Saratoga Cares Foundation - Runs free college admission consulting for our high school seniors. ■ Proponent of Senior Care - Founded Saratoga’s Got Talent monthly open mic to raise money for the Senior Center - Completely invested to support Senior Center programs, run Yoga, entertainment for the Seniors - Against rampant high density housing mandates for Saratoga by ABAG - but supportive of high density housing for Saratoga’s Seniors - why uproot our seniors? We need to plan for Senior housing options in our city. ■ Leadership with Saratoga Chamber of Commerce events o Social Media strategy and execution o Events planning and execution: Celebrate Saratoga, Saratoga Holiday Party, Saratoga Christmas Karaoke, Wine Stroll. ■ Former Board Member, AYSO Soccer (Region 27) Saratoga. Many roles on AYSO Region 27: Referee, Divisional Manager ■ Invested in supporting our commercial districts, help our businesses succeed; collaborating with Saratoga Chamber of Commerce. o Founded a monthly open mic in Saratoga downtown to foster community unification, and to revitalize Saratoga's fragile downtown economy o Committed, finds the time: Walked door to door, business to business, to meet many business owners from all 5 Saratoga commercial district (Village, Argonaut, Gateway, Quito, Lawrence) - to understand what is working for Saratoga's businesses, what is not working and areas where we can all help. ■ Community leadership, vision to launch and execute various community unification projects. o Leadership with community issues, action/objective driven, mediating and formulating win-win solutions - Saratoga Village revitalization, Google fiber /high speed internet, SCA5 and more o Initiated and led community events/festivals: Saratoga Diwali, Saratoga Dandia, New Year o Launched free activities/classes for the community like Bollywood Fitness, Yoga, Meditation and many more - held weekly at Saratoga Community Center ■ Saratoga Boy Scout Troop 581 parent volunteer, father of an Eagle Scout. Presented to Boy Scouts towards fulfillment of First Class Requirement 5. Provided volunteer opportunities for Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts. Conducted a successful Saratoga Creek cleanup day. ■ Founder, Saratoga Lego Robotics club for Saratoga Elementary and Middle School students; volunteered for Math Olympiad, Math Docent, Robotics. ■ Launched free classes for all: Bollywood Fitness, Yoga, Meditation and more held weekly at our Community Center ■ Founded Safe Saratoga Focus Group ■ Give back to the local community o Raised money for Saratoga Senior Center, Saratoga Education Foundation, Red Cross Silicon Valley, Saratoga Chamber of Commerce, Bonnie J Addario Lung Cancer Foundation/ Stride for Susie, Saratoga Relay for Life, Saratoga Sub Acute Hospital ■ Volunteering at Saratoga Schools: o Technology Committee - Argonaut, Math Docent, American Math Contest, Lego Robotics ■ City of Saratoga Web Site Advisory Committee. ■ Member: Saratoga Historical Foundation, Friends of the Saratoga Libraries ■ Political Campaign Manager (City Council elections), precinct walker, organized campaign fundraisers, highlight and address community issues. ■ OCCUPATION: Senior executive in a high-tech Silicon Valley company. Prior to this, spent 18 years in IBM, Cisco, Ford; successful track record in various business and technical leadership roles. ■ EDUCATION: Masters Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Connecticut, Storrs - home of Huskies basketball.
